Notes from Sister Dalton's message

Please post your insights from Sister Dalton's message:

YW Leaders are called, chosen and prepared. God directs our paths. YW leaders have a great work to do to prepare the next generation of mothers. How can leaders help the young women––it's all about Christ and the temple. Everything we do leads the young women to Him.

Bear testimony is formal and informal ways.

The purpose of stakes––a defense and a refuge.

Elder Holland said we need to be strong to fight against the wickedness that bombards us. We need to help the youth receive spiritual nourishment so that they can fight and not be weary. We need to provide spiritual experiences the youth will remember and help them become converted. Conversion is what you do with what you know.

Young women love testimony meeting at girl's camp. At camp they can be away from the world and be themselves. They can be still. We feel good in nature because all is obedient. Earth responds to righteousness. We need to create mountain top experiences where young women can feel the Spirit. Moses was able to resist Satan because of his mountain top experience. Young women love camp because they feel accepted and loved for who they are.

Leaders must be spiritually prepared. Leaders represent the divine worth of women and leaders represent the Savior. The young women watch how the gospel works in the lives of their leaders. They watch how their leaders react to life. Leaders should be mentors and coaches and not slaves. Help the young women take charge.

Help young women do hard things. Young women can do more than they think. When you do something, you become converted.

Have superlative goals. This is not a mediocre cause. Set big goals. Make camp delicious. Give them s'mores. There are not too many girls who are so crusty that they can't be softened after four days of camping.
