ALMOND GRANOLA RECIPE (served this morning)
(Original recipe from Marriott Hotel)

A doubled recipe can be prepared in the same amount of time.

In a bowl combine:
4 cups old fashioned oats (not instant)
2 cups Rice Krispies cereal (use the name brand—it stays much crispier)
2 cups sliced almonds*

In a medium saucepan, heat together until sugar is dissolved:
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 ½ sticks of butter
½ cup honey

Remove sauce from heat and stir in 2 tsp. of cinnamon. Pour mixture over oats, rice and nuts. Spread on a cookie or in a roasting pan because it’s much less messy for stirring a doubled recipe.

Toast in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.

Allow to cool and store in an airtight container. If not eating soon, store in zip top bags and keep frozen until ready to use.

*Additional mix-in choices
1 cup dried apples or other dried fruit
1 cup raisins or craisins
1 cup shaved coconut
