What are "Tent Rotations"?

Tent Rotations

On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, while three wards are at the challenge course, the other six wards will be rotating through different activities in camp, one of which is tent activities. Each ward will have two, two-hour tent rotations on two different days, one from 9:00-11:00 and the other from 11:00-1:00.

9:00-11:00 Tent Rotations
When your ward has tent rotations from 9:00-11:00, each ward will choose two out of three great activities. Each tent activity lasts one hour and can accommodate approximately 20 girls.

The YCLs chose the following three activities for the 9:00-11:00 tent rotations:

  • Zumba
  • Get out Games
  • Food Tent (the girls will learn a cooking skill and eat😀)

11:00-1:00 Tent Rotations
When your ward has tent rotations from 11:00-1:00, the girls will spend one hour working on a craft and one hour learning how to "Stop the Bleed" (recognizing and stopping fatal bleeds). FYI: the YCLs have chosen clock charm bracelets and spoon rings as the crafts.

Here is the camp schedule again if you want to review your ward's tent rotations. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Flag Ceremony Assignments

Each day at camp, we will have an opening and closing flag ceremony (please check the camp schedule for times). Each ward will be assigned one flag ceremony in which they will either raise or lower the flag. Your Beehives usually have this responsibility.

Please invite your older girls who have participated in the camp flag raising and lowering ceremony in the past to teach your Beehives how to conduct the flag ceremony. If your ward is assigned a closing flag ceremony, please ask your older girls to teach your Beehives how to properly fold the flag.

Here is a link to a simple ceremony for both opening and closing flag ceremonies. We also have a card the girls can look at if they need it.

Sweet Dreams!

Campsite Assignments:

Campsite 1: 12th and 22nd Wards
Campsite 2: 8th and 3rd Wards
Campsite 4: 5th and 21st Wards

Your ward will be sharing a campsite, but you will have your own fire pit. Specific cabins will be designated for your ward once we arrive at camp. Here are four FYIs about campsites:
  • Each cabin has 16 beds.
  • Two adult leaders must sleep in each cabin.
  • Sites 1, 2 and 4 have their own biffy, which they will be responsible for cleaning.
  • Sites 5 and 6 share with campsite 3, which will be occupied by another ward outside of our stake.
