Hello everyone. This is Denice Roney from Rock Canyon Ward.
We were all asked to post ideas for camp.
One thing we are doing this year is soap carving. I bought soap and knives from the dollar store. It fulfills a camp requirement. Everyone pray we don't have any slip ups and need stitches. But if it does happen, I hope it's me so I can go home for stitches and take a shower while I'm at it ;)
Another requirement is to take a nature walk and make a craft from nature (I'm totally paraphrasing here and couldn't even tell you which year). We are going to embroider a nature scene, which the girls are going to trace or draw themselves.
The girls love the camp fire. We have some colored sprinkles they love to pour over. They also love roasting starburst over the fire.
Lastly, I suggest you all bring really warm sleeping gear. Everyone, every year, makes fun of my *princess bed*.. But I'm telling you what - Sister Roney has never had a cold night at GC. I have a super warm, huge, heavy sleeping bag. I also have a white down comforter. And an amazing blowup mattress (which got a hole last year - Target here I come. I wonder if I will be able to find one there. Darn that Target construction). I sleep in sweats, hoodie, socks (and gloves if needed). It will probably be pretty nice weather during the day, but those nights can bite you if you aren't careful!
Now everyone else, share your ideas. It's not hard. Hit the right top button that says *new post* and start typing. Then press the orange *publish* button at the top middle of this very page. Be brave ;)
