- Lots of fruit, hot chocolate, simple as possible, lots of food.
- Beehives, Mia Maids and Laurels in charge of meals--they chose, prep, are in charge of and clean up their meal.
- YW bring foil dinner for dinner that first night.
- Each day has two leaders and 6-7 girls. The girls plan and organize everything except meals for their day.
- Camp director gave assignments such as waterfront, lanyards, service, etc
- YW plan a chunk of ward time to plan: physical, spiritual, service, gratitude
- Divide into groups of three, two leaders with each group. Each group will plan and cook and clean up two meals.
- Secret sister, jewelry, pillow cases
- We decorated hats for a Tea Party with Miss Jane
- We are having a "True Beauty" spa day (beauty inside and out)
- The girls are excited to decorate camp in the value colors
- Excited about humanitarian service but not about confidence course
How are you letting Laurels Lead:
- Laurels will be planning and teaching a class with a craft called "O Be Wise"-- wise choices that will lead me to the temple. They've been involved in the planning will each be in charge of a devotional.
- Teaching and signing off certification. Organizing events like secret sisters. Running confidence course. We had a special training on helping girls on rope course, first aid, scripture study--it was a great and fun day.
- They are planning meals, activities each day, decorating camp, teaching certification, flag assignments
- Laurels are in charge of bedtime stories, humanitarian service, waterfront and games.
Certification:
- BBQ at stake fire pit to certify cooking; an RN taught CPR and rescue breathing; YCLs taught rest of first aid.
Any other idea:
- Planning to have the head of the ROTC (in our ward) teach the YW about a flag ceremony.
- Attend the temple as leaders before camp (and before it closes) to unite leaders and for strength. Leaders could also receive blessings before camp.
