Information Email

Hello Ward YW Presidents and Camp Directors,

We are so excited about camp and want to share with you the updated schedule, dinner assignments for stake leaders and other information we hope will be helpful in camp planning.

The Camp Kick Off Fireside will be Wednesday, June 21st at 7:00pm, in the stake center chapel. We look forward to sharing the theme with the girls and their parents. And there's refreshments! Shortly after refreshments the young women participating in 'Path of Righteousness' will go to their assigned rooms with their parents for a quick run thru of their talks.

Attached you will find information to help with the geocaching activity. The Shalom missionaries have 5 GPS units available. Please check in with them and reserve them for your time slot on arrival at camp. If you choose to participate a small trinket you provide is usually left in the box. Please prepare an alternate activity for your ward to participate in if you choose to not go geocaching.

FOOD: Along with breakfast and lunch the stake will also be providing snacks during the waterfront/challenge course time slots and a treat after the stake presidency speaks on Thursday evening. Please remind your girls to bring a sack lunch with them on Tuesday for the bus ride.

The Q&A on the schedule during lunch time is for ward presidents, leaders and camp directors to meet in a designated area with Mary Rencher, Diane Mangum and/or President Peterson if you have any questions or concerns you would like to address or have any special needs.

We will load the buses at the stake center on Tuesday at 11:30am, and will leave the parking lot at 12:00.  The buses will leave Camp Shalom at 1:00pm on Saturday and are projected to return around 3:00. We will have a couple of contact people within the stake for urgent or emergency messages. Contact information will be given out at the camp kick off.

We are still not informed on whether we will be planting or watering trees for the Shalom service project. We ask that you provide a shovel for every 3-4 young women, as many empty milk jugs with lids as possible and work gloves.

If you have not already, would you please let Jenn Knapp or Holly Williams (5th ward) know the name of the leader who will be going on the 4th year overnight hike with your ward.

Please be aware that every ward has been assigned a cleaning duty, during the week and for checkout. Please make sure you know when your cleaning duty is assigned and plan appropriately. We are aware that time is tight on Friday, so the stake leaders will be taking care of the biffy duty that day.

Please remind your young women to bring an extra bath/beach towel to use as their mat for yoga!

Thank you for all your hard work, patience and love! We greatly appreciate your work on camp and devotion to the young women in our stake!
